We are looking for a General Operative. The main purpose of this role is to cut & finish feature beams for timber frame homes. Using milling machinery & hand tools, you will be required to read a customer’s drawing and cut beams down to size, chamfer, draw knife, plane & shotblast.

General Operative working hours: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, and Friday 08:00 – 15:30

What will you be doing as our General Operative?

  • Cut timbers, insulation and materials to size ready for assembly
  • Accurately assemble timber frame panels from drawings
  • Work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate safe use of machinery and hand tools
  • Meet production requirements in terms of quality, accuracy and safety, whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Compliance with all the company policies and procedures
  • Ensure Health and Safety is adhered to at all times

What we're looking for in our General Operative:

  • Previous experience of working in a factory/manufacturing process environment
  • Ideally experience of working with timber
  • You must be confident with measurements and numbers
  • A good team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A flexible operative who is willing to be trained in all areas of the manufacturing business whatever line and area this may be
