Kingspan Logic Plus Building System Render

Kingspan Logic+ System Benefits

•    Powered by Kingspan Kooltherm® phenolic premium performance insulation
•    Exceeds building regulations in terms of both thermal and fire performance requirements
•    U Value range 0.19 – 0.15 W/m2K
•    Factory manufactured under strict quality control, Kingspan Logic+   is quick and easy to install – reducing labour costs and build times.
•    Factory pre-fitted Insulation with site installed airtight membrane and integral service Void
•    Reduced Cold Bridging, Air Leakage and Drafts
•    Slimmer than other similar timber frame syststems due to use of Kingspan Kooltherm® insulation.
•    Facilitates a fast build using highly engineered precision manufactured system

Kingspan Logic+ has been developed in-house by our technical team who have an unrivalled level of expertise and experience.

An inbuilt zone for services such as pipework and electric cabling allows for future service upgrades, such as extra sockets or networking, to be added to the house without compromising the insulation layer and therefore maintaining the high standard of thermal performance.

Kingspan Logic+ will help manage the extent of renewable energy to a cost effective level. Kingspan Logic+ provides the customer with a high performance, maintenance free external wall solution.

Logic+ adds Kingspan Kooltherm® insulation, external thermal breather membrane, internal reflective vapour check layer and an internal service batten to create a thermally efficient, fuel saving external wall with a U-Value of 0.16 W/m2K.

All the timber used in Kingspan Logic+ has full Chain of Custody certification and Kingspan Kooltherm® has an A-rating in the Green Guide.

The Kingspan Logic+ timber frame system benefits from factory-fitted Kingsgspan Kooltherm® rigid insulation. Assuming that masonry cladding is used then the combination of high performance rigid insulation and reflective membranes selected in the system mean that it achieves a U-value of 0.16 W/m2K more than 10% better than the reference value used in SAP calculations.
The internal vapour control layer (fitted on site by us) to the Kingspan Logic+ wall system also acts as an air-barrier and provides air-tightness to the wall structure. This layer is an important element of the build that helps provide air-tightness to the whole structure. We know from experience that customers using this system should readily be able to achieve a performance under test of 5-3 m3/m2/hr @50Pa.
Now that new homes in the UK are relatively well insulated and reasonably air-tight, thermal bridging at external junctions has become a much more important contributor to overall than energy efficiency that it used to be. To address this issue we have thermal bridging calculations in place that demonstrate the performance of our system and help improve the overall energy efficiency of your new home. The calculations for Kingspan Logic+ demonstrate a level of performance in excess of that used in the reference values utilised in SAP – the energy efficiency software used to check compliance with the Building Regulations.
Unlike many conventional timber frame systems Kingspan Logic+ benefits from large scale structural fire testing. This provides our customers with confidence about Building Regulation compliance.
The level of protection required in most detached residential properties is easily achieved with only a single layer of 15mm standard plasterboard fixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
The Kooltherm K-range is an extensive range of premium performance phenolic insulants for roof, wall and floor insulation.

Kingspan Kooltherm® Framing Board with a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic insulation core faced on both sides with a low emissivity composite foil facing. By using Kingspan Kooltherm® the thickness of insulation included in external walls can be minimised and the floor space available for use increased.

Kingspan Kooltherm® offers the following benefits:

•    With a thermal conductivity of 0.018–0.023 W/m.K these are the most thermally efficient insulation products commonly used.
•    The thinnest commonly used insulation products for any specific U–value.
•    Manufactured with a blowing agent that has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
•    Their closed cell structure resists both moisture and water vapour ingress
•    Unaffected by air infiltration – a problem that can be experienced with mineral fibre and which can reduce thermal performance.
•    Safe and easy to install – fibre-free core.
•    If installed correctly, can provide reliable long term thermal performance over the lifetime of the building.

Kingspan Kooltherm® Framing Board is certified by the BBA for use between studding and/or as an insulated sheathing over walls of conventional timber-frame buildings and has well defined fire performance characteristics and benefits from testing to a wide range of international standards.
