Choosing your build method
Today, very few clients actually get “hands on” building their own homes. Most use one of the three approaches outlined here, with available time and budget being the main factors in deciding which way to go.
In all cases, we erect the timber frame structural element of your new home, using dedicated teams that have been doing just that for the last 27 years. The completed structure equates to around 40% of the total build, so all you have to do is ensure the internal and external works are completed on time and to your satisfaction.
Self Build using Subcontractors
45% of our clients manage their own projects, usually hiring and organising subcontract labour. This is a very cost effective option and we are able to support you with:
- The provision of our very own award winning build manual
- Your own Potton Contracts Manager
- Recommended tradesmen and subcontractors
- Potton Trade Card
- Potton Project Management Seminar
Project Managed
You may like to appoint a full time project manager to run the whole process for you and we can help by putting you in contact with one of our approved regional project managers. All have experience of building Potton homes, offer a range of services to suit your budget and are happy to offer advice to prospective clients on build costs.
Full Build using a Potton Approved Builder
For those with a flexible budget, the opportunity to have a full turnkey project may appeal, and we have a number of recommended builders who would be pleased to quote for this service.
