Kingspan Potton’s innovative Zenit range has been Highly Commended by judges in the Construction Systems category for the Self Build Product Innovation Awards at this year’s National Homebuilding and Renovating show.
Built using Kingspan’s highly insulated SIPS building system, TEK®, Zenit homes blend energy-efficiency with space, style and comfort.
Each design includes include a number of breathtaking design features found in many individually created contemporary houses, usually only affordable to a small, privileged number of home owners. Such hallmarks of popular contemporary architecture include galleried hallways, vaulted ceilings and combinations of single, two and three storey elements, which make wonderful, airy open plan living spaces. They are entirely flexible and can be modified to be as individual as the people who build them.
In the judging they achieved an average score of 7.67 out of 10. Judge Michael Holmes, Editor in Chief of Homebuilding and Renovating Magazine and presenter of Channel 5’s “I Own Britain’s Best Home” said: “ SIPs panels are likely to be used far more widely to meet the future building regulations and this range of houses offers self-builders a well thought out package offering the latest in construction techniques for sustainable homes, with an exciting range of design options AND the flexibility to create an individual design.”
Dhiran Vagdia - Chairman of RIBA (West Midlands Region), another judge added:“A good offering to self-builders who wish to construct using the engineered SIP system of construction.”
